Cause of Establishment : The King of Mawali (Mewar) was the inspiration behind the temple. At his instruction a huge and heavy idol of Lord Ganesh was transported by a bullock cart. It was decided that a temple would be built where the cart stopped. It was here that the bullocks became resistive and would not move. The then Mohant Shiva Narain, again inspired Seth Jai Ram Paliwal who bore the expenses of construction of the temple.

       
Brief of the Diety:

The deity's idol is in a sitting posture. The idol is vermilion colored. Vermillion paste is applied from time to time. This is called "chola" or the covering.

Citizens of Jaipur city and outsiders visit the temple in big number. On every auspicious occasion, invitation is sent to Shri Ganesh Ji first of all. Lord Ganesh is the remover of all impediments and difficulties. He averts misfortunes and brings in good luck. People of Jaipur have strong faith in GaneshJi.

Unique features of the temple:

 The outstanding and captivating things in the temple are- The idol of Shri GaneshJi, Lattices carved in marble, traditionally organized fair every Wednesday. Worship of the deity is in accordance with the Gauriya Vaishnava tradition. There are 7 darshanas in a day. For every adorned appearance, Bhajans are decided, Keertan and Bhajans are held every day.

Custom & Traditions of Temple:

Gauriya Vaishnava traditions are followed in the temple. The Goswami poojaris here in fact came from Bengal. Their descendant successors are the priests to here. They follow the primogeniture principle according to which rights devolve upon the first born son. He has a right to succeed as mahant or the Head Priest.
