Cause of Establishment:
On the Eleventh day of the bright half of the month Magh of the Hindus in Samvat 1445 (1388 A.D) Shrimati Gagna Bai the widow of Shri Gopal Ram committed sati. She prophesied that the temple of lord Chaturbhujaji would be built there. It was Monday. In the following year on Monday, the ninth day of the Hindu Month of Chaitra(bright half), the foundation of this temple was laid by Jaitji, Khetji and Netji. It was the day of Ram Navami the birthday of lord Rama held to be most auspicious by the Hindus. Thus the family members of Gangabai built it.

       
Brief of the Diety:

The deity occupying the temple shrine and worshipped is chaturbhujaji, the four 4 armed deity lord Vishnu. The idol is of black stone. Jetji saw in his dream that this idol was lying buriedin the  river bed of Bedach river form where it was recovered and enshrined in this temple of village Singoli. The Deity is also called Shaymji because of its black color.

Important Architectural Characteristics:

The temple has been constructed in the famous Nagar style of architecture and its conception is grand. The sanctum sanctorum, the circumbulatory path , the verandah, chhataries (ornamental canopies etc. reveal the elaborately ostensible characteristics of this style.

Important Architectural Characteristics:

The Shikhar (pinnacle) is round shaped and atop the pinnacle is fixed a kalasha (urn shaped rounded form) From the Main gate to the verandah in front of the Sanctum sanctorum, there is flight of stairs above which in the magnificent roof-top. The ceiling is ornamental and catches the beholders eye. In the circumbulatroy path of the temple there is elegant and artistic mirror work.

Material of Construction:

Stone, lime, soil, lead and marble have been used as building material.

Religious aspects of temple:

The temple is held as pilgrimage and visited by pilgrims of distant places as well. In the tradition of Sanatan Dharma (External Faith), it inculcats devotion to lord Vishnu in the hearts of the visitors In the Mewar region, this temple occupies a unique place.

So great is the Deity’s impact on people that the devotees come and perform their ceremonies and rituals in keeping with their family traditions situated in the fascinating valleys of Mewar, the temple attracts the Devotees and also tourist who flock to this temple.

Festivals & Fairs in Temple (Main Events):

While all Hindu festivals and ceremonies are performed here, specially mentionable are Rama Navami, Janamashtami, Ekadashis, Sharat Poornima , Dipawali, Annukuta and Phooldol (floral adornment of the Deity). Throughout the year Bhajan Sandhyas (Devotional songs nightlong) and mass chanting of holy names of the Deity are organized.

Custom & Traditions of Temple:

This temple is the biggest center of free distribution of food (Anna). The deity’s palanquin bearing the lord’s image is taken to the house of a devotee who prays for the deities visit. He with ceremony, receiver the lord and holds feast for Brahmins and others. Priests of the priestly family by turn hold the temple services.

Details of Temple:
Sanctrum: In the sanctorum the idol of the deity immaculately beautiful, stand on a shrine of square shape.
Verandah: It is made of marble in which 99 coins of silver are jutted artistically. Green granite stone has been used in the back of the Shrine while the floor is in white marble.

The holds a very important position amongst the holy shrines of this area. It plays a great social, culutral,religious role and for centuries people have held the temple in great esteem . It's rich heritage should be conserved.
