Cause of Establishment:
The temple was built in 16th century and its founder was Maharaja Raisingh. The king felt that the sacred place was a site for ascetiasm used by the sage Kapil Muni. Therefore, he build this temple for perpetual memory of the place.

       
Brief of the Diety:

In the inner temple, the idol is of black marble and one of white marble. One idol is that of Kapil Muni  and in left side is Garudji and in right side Vashishthaji and  other one is of his Mother Devahuti.It is front side of the temple.

The temple belongs to Vaishnava Sect.

Muni and in left side is garudji and in right side Vashishthaji and other one is of mother Devahuti . It is in front side of ther temple.

The temples of Kapil Muni are a few in number and this is one of them. Since the temple is located by the side of a beautiful water body and its beauty has been enhanced all the more and now it has become a spot for the tourists to visit.

A big fair is held on the Poornima of the month of Kartika.

Issues requiring global attention for conservation, protection and improvement of the temple:

Kolayat is a city of temples at a distance of merely 50 kms. From Bikaner but Lolayat is a very ancient place and it is famour as a sacred place. This has assumed the status of a tourist attraction centre. It is proposed that this place should be further developed from the view point of tourism.
