Cause of Establishment:
There have been nine Siddhas in the Nath cult, the foremost of them is Shri Gorakh Nath who was an accomplished yogi. This place is said to be the site of ascetism of Shri Gorakh Nath where his fire place (Dhuna) is even today present. It is also believed that Shri Gogaji met Shri Gorakh Nathji here and became his principal disciple. Gorakh Nathji gave him spiritual education and instructions. The temple of Gogaji is only 3 Kms. Away towards the west from this place.

       
Brief of the Diety:

The idol of Bhairuji and Devi along with Lord Shiva and his family are worshiped in this temple. The Dhuna of Gorkh Nathji is also an object of worship. In this temple there is a stone image of Goddess Kalika which is made of stone and is in standing posture having the size of 3 ft. Side by side is the black stone idol of Bhairuji of the equal size. By them is the Shiva family and other Samadhis (entombments) of the yogis.

The Dhuna Guru Gorakhnath is on a mound, hence it is called Gorakh teela.Dhuna of Gorkh Nathji is also an object of worship. By them is the Shiva family and other Samadhis (entombments) of the yogis.

The temple management ensures proper up-keep of the temple, the water tank, the dharmshala and the Bhandara (Charitable food distribution).

Here we can find the perfectly secular temple where people of all religions, sects, communities, cartes, creeds may come and have darshan. Visitors from Punjab, Rajasthan, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh & Delhi come here in the month of Bhadrapada. They first of all visit the place of Guru Gorakhnath who was the guru of Gogaji. There after they visit sacred place of Gogaji.

Custom & Traditions of Temple:

The rituals and customs of the Nath cult are followed here. The temple does not have any circumambulatory path, but there is an open chowk. A hall has also been constructed. In the holi shrine sre there quite a big Rasoi or kitchen and many charitable lodges for the outsiders.

Issues requiring global attention for conservation, protection and improvement of the temple:
Nath sect is quaite old. This sect emerged as a reformation and purification of Tantrika and Siddha practices with their abhorred mystic rites and rituals Gorakh Nath was the first in the lime Naths.He was a disciple of matsyendra Nath.As an ancient sect this should be preserved.
