Cause of Establishment:
The old cenotaph was built in the memory of Shri Ramdeoji by descendants but the present cenotaph was built by Maharaja Shri Ganga Singhji of Bikaner at Shri Ramdevra Runecha. The king was aware of the powers of Baba Ramdevji whom he regarded like a deity. The tomb of Shri Ramdevji is worshipped here. This tomb or cenotaph is at the centre of the temple campus. The head is towards north while the feet are towards South. In this temple various tombs of the family members of Shri Ramdevji are also there while in Hindudharma the dead bodies are cremated, here like the Nath cult, the dead bodies are assigned to dust in a grave and a tomb is built thereon.

Important Architectural Characteristics:

The original temple was quite ordinary but the present temple is beautifully built by the local masons, sculptors and artizans. Various kinds of lattices, projections and Jharokhas (a projected construction covered by lattices around) have been used here. Excepting the inner temple, the rest of the temple has been built in the modern style of architecture. Building stone, Makrana marble and lime morter have been used.

People have a great faith in the temple. Atmosphere is charged with faith and devotion. All the year around devotees and visitors come to the temple to offer their homage and prayers to seek fulfilment of their wishes..

Unique features of the temple:

Entry to the Samadhi (tomb) is allowed without any consideration of caste and creed and religon hence people from all walks of life, all sects and communities come.m

Festivals & Fairs in Temple (Main Events):

Two principal fairs are held every year. One fair is on a small scale and is held in January and February while the second fair is on a large scale which is held in August and September. Lacs of people visit this temple on these occasions.

Custom & Traditions of Temple:

Devotees offer Sweets, Coconuts, Makhanas, Misri and cloth made horse-image on the tomb. There is a water tank also. A dip in that is considered to be efficacious for skin diseases. Some followers come from great distances on foot, while some creep on belly to reach the temple.

Issues requiring global attention for conservation, protection and improvement of the temple:

Lacs of people come every year to pay their homage to the deity here. For their facilities, is infrastructure must be created. Shri Ramdevji is a local deity but his worship is prevalent not only in Rajasthan but also in the neighboring states. The traditions and customs of the temple must be retained in their original form, hence nothing new should be introduced. The only requirement is that of facilities for the growing number of visitors who come every year.
