Cause of Establishment:
This temple is of Lord Parshwanath on whose head a thousand headed serpents with its hood has made a canopy. It is believed that the deity always all allays anxieties. Hence the name Shri Sahasrafana Chintamani Parshwanath Bhagwan has been given to the deity.

       
Brief of the Diety:

In addition to Lord Parshwanath the other deities worhsipped are Shri Ajit nath, Bhagwan Sambhava nath, Rishab Deo ji.

Important Architectural Characteristics:

The exquisite artistic architecture is worth seeing. The temple is built in Jaisalmeri stone marked with fine chiselling work of lattices and filigree. Toran or the ornate arch at the main entrance of the Jain temple and the unparallelled carvings are amazing The replica of the divine tree Kalpataru is an added attraction. The windows have an immaculate carving work. The soft sandstone of golden colour of Jaisalmer has been used. The sanctum Sanctorum in particular is a marvellous work of art.

Total Construction Time: It is said that the construction work lasted for 50 years.

Unique features of the temple:

The temple belongs to the Jain community. Mohammad Gauri the invader caused vandalism to the temple. Many statues even today are in a broken condition. There are twelve Torans or ornate arches at the entrances. Some times people have the darshan of Naag Devta or the snake god who is the presiding spirit here.

Festivals & Fairs in Temple (Main Events):

In the bright half of the month of Paush a fair is organized. It is participated by thousand and thousands of visitors from Rajasthan, Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh. At other times also the fair is thickly peopled.

Custom & Traditions of Temple:

Worship is held in Jain tradition all newly married bridegroom formerly used to visit the temple with their bride and he whould touch the toran with a stick. Rice and almonds are offered in the temple.

Verandah: Nij mandir 50' x 100', worship hall - 12' x 10', Verandah with a 3 wide circummambulary path. Sanctum sanctorum 9'x9'. Other 5 temples in Parikrama.

Issues requiring global attention for conservation, protection and improvement of the temple:

The temple is a thousand years old but the present form is 400 years old. This is a great cultural, architectural and sculputral heritage which must be lovingly preserved.
