Cause of Establishment:
During rainy season, Rao Jagat Singhji used to visit Rangbadi with his queens for his pleasure trip. One day the queen became seriously ill. At that time, a Sadhu lived here, he with his Tantrik powers and medicinal skill made the queen healthy and the disease was fully controlled. At the suggestion of this Sadhu, Rao Jagat Singhji built this temple of Balaji Maharaj.

       
Brief of the Diety:

The chief idol of the temple is of Balaji and it faces the South. On the right shoulder is seated Lord Ram. Therefore, the right shoulder is worshiped. Pooja is performed in accordance with the tenets of Shri Ramanuj Sampradaya.

The temple belongs to the Ramanuj sect of Vaishnavas.

The temple is built in Nagar style of architecture. It has a square shape and its dome is round shaped. Atop the dome is built a lotus flower having eight petals. The pinnacle has Kalash of copper which has gold polish.

This temple commands great respect of the people and thus it disseminates the Sanatan Vaishnava Dharma (Eternal Religion of Vashnavas) Balaji is an embodiment of power prowess and quick action, hence Balaji is very popular amongst people.

Unique features of the temple:

In the region of Hadoti, this temple of Balaji is a principal temple. Along with Balaji, there is Sheetla Mata enshrined and a tomb of the Baba is also there. Attached to the temple is a garden maintained by the Horticulture Department. To the North of the temple, a magnificent gate way has been built by the Urban Improvement Trust and left to the inner temple is a holy kund of water. The visitors take rounds of this kund. The water filling this kund percolates from under the idol.

All Hindu festivals are observed here. Special festivals are Ramnavmi, Hanuman Jayanti, Janmashtami, Dushhara and Navratras.

Custom & Traditions of Temple:

At Dushahra which is a day commemorating the victory of Ram over Rawan, a big fair is held. The ex- Maharaja of Kota with his ceremonial procession visits the Rangbadi Balaji and then performs the Rawan vadh ceremony.

Details of Temple:
Sanctrum: The sanctum sanctorum is square in shape. On a square platform the stone image of Balaji is present. In the four corners of the sanctum sanctorum, there are four pillars and every pillar has a carving work of floral pattern.
Verandah: 1
Garbh Grah: 4 pillars on four corners of Garbh Grah with carving of flowers and leaves.
Rasoi: At the back of the temple and near the kund, there is a rasoi.

Everyday Mangla Aarti is performed at 8.00 AM whereas Sandhya Aarti 7:30 P.M. & Shayan Aarati is performed at 9.00 PM
Issues requiring global attention for conservation, protection and improvement of the temple:

The garden around should be developed and water kundas in the campus must be repaired and cleaned. A proper canvassing of this would attract more people and the message of religion will have a far flung prevalence. Visitors from foreign countries are also attracted. For them proper lodging arrangements should be made. The temple should be brought on the world map of tourism.
