Cause of Establishment:
Shri Jagat Singh Chudawat, the nephew of meera Bai, the renowned queen devotee to Lord Krishna.The Four arms of the black stone deity hold conch, discus, mace and a Lotus flower, to the right of the deity is the idol of Lakshmi Ji to the left side in the idol Bhudevi. Out side facing the deity is the statue of the Lords carrier garudji.

For all Hindus whatever the their creed and tradition, the temple holds a place of veneration and faithful dedication, even followers of Islam and Zoroastrianism hold the temple in great respect. People following all religions and faiths visit this temple. Surrounded by lush green hills, water hills, valleys and thick words the place has a unique natural beauty. Near by is the fount from which gushes forth the Gomati River.

Sanctum sanctorum where worship is offered and balbhog offered, verandahs and dharmashalla are also there. On the entrance, on either side there is a huge elephant of stone welcoming the visitors. A Big Sabha mandap (Portico) and wide temple premises are there for the visitors.

Festivals & Fairs in Temple (Main Events):

Phagotsava is held in the month of phalgun and early part of chaitra month. At this time ghair dances are held and colored powder is thrown on all while the deity swings in a cradle. Jal Jhulani Ekadashi is celebrated in the month of Bhadrapad and the deity is borne in a palanquin from Ghagharaya to Doodh Talai. On the fifth day of bright half of phalgun, as many as 56 kinds of dishes and sweets are prepared and offered to the deity. On the day of annkuta of food are offered and distributed to the devotees.

The Priests of the temple are traditionally of the priestly family of Rajpurohits(Bharadwaj) advasis hold their functions on the Ekadashi (Eleventh day) of bright half of chaitra month.

Issues requiring global attention for conservation, protection and improvement of the temple:

The Temple is under the algis of the Devasthan Vibhag. On the National Highway No. 8., this temple is 15 Kms away from the Gomati choraha. Despite the uniqueness of the temples, not many visitors come for want of motor able road. It's suggested that a road be built from Charbhuja Ji to Sevantari, a part from this, tourists around be attracting by creating facilities for them.
