Cause of Establishment:n the Vikram Samvat 931 (874 A.D.) the forefathers of the present Brahmin Bhandari priests of the temple and Dhuliya Bheel installed this idol in the village Dhulia. At that time Mewar was under the rule of Rawal Khuyan. This was done following the forcible conversion of Hindus, Janis and others into Islamic fold and devastation caused to temples by Mohammedan invaders.

       
Brief of the Diety:

Bhagwan Rishabh Deo is revered by Vaishnavas and Janis both. The idol of Bhagwan Rishabh Deo is in a setting posture, cross legged. The black stone idol is 105 centimeters high.

Important Architectural Characteristics:

The size of the Sanctum Sanctorum is 6'7"x6' where as the pillared portico is 14'6"x16'. The from chowk of the temple is 6'9"x5'. There are nine seats and statues (idols) of Ajit Nath, Sambhava Nath, Sumati Nath and Nemi Nath. There are fifty two Jinalayas or niches for Jain idols. In the circumambulatory path there are idols of Charbhuja (four armed Vishnu), Parshwa Nath, Somnath Mahadev. There is a Rasoi (Kitchen) and also a Kothar (Store house). A Dharmashala or lodge of 154 rooms can accommodate many visitors. The temple is heavily guarded by armed guard numbering sixty. They are under the control of the security officer. Round the clock armed guards keep a strong vigil.

Rishabh Deo, according to Shri Bhagwat Purana was the son of Nabhi and Meru. He was father of a hundred sons. Bharata was his eldest son. Having relinquished his Kingdom for his son, he became an ascetic and began to live the life of a recluse. His penance was extremely severe and austere. He became skeleton thin, all his flesh gone. His ascetic wonderings were in the western part of Bharat Varsha as the Parana relates. He was the founder the Jain faith. He is known as the first Tirthankara of the Jains. Devotees come to this temple to offer prayers and beg for the deity's grace, which can do marvelous things and fulfill their wishes.

Unique features of the temple:

Unique architecture and idols exquisitely artistic make the temple highly attractive. On the main gate, there is a round tomb like Shikhar and six drum seats.

Festivals & Fairs in Temple (Main Events):

In the black half of Chaitra month, the birth anniversary of Rishabh Deoji is celebrated on eighth day. A fair is also held.

Custom & Traditions of Temple:

The idol is given ceremonial milk and water both in the morning and at noon respectively. Saffron is used in abundance. The deity wears an angi jutted with gems. Horse riding idol is carried in a procession, Hindu festivals and celebrations are also held.
